Can you really go wrong with great shoes?

Day 3 of the photo-a-day project has arrived!  Is there really anything more girly than a great pair of shoes??  They're one of my more costly obsessions, and definitely a bit more girly!  These shoes were the runners-up for my wedding shoes.  I wound up going with a pink pair, with bows on the back....hmmm...maybe they'll fit into this project somewhere!

Have a great night!

A quick thought....

A thought came to me tonight...If the only thing driving your passion is money, isn't that all you'll ever get out of it?

Additional thoughts welcome :)

Day #2

This project is a bit harder than I thought, but I'm enjoying the challenge.  I decided to stick with the makeup theme for another day.  What do you think?  This is only my second time photographing makeup, so go easy on me!

I took another shot that I wanted to share...it kind of fits in with my theme....It's my puppy, Brodie!  Despite the boy name, she's a girl.  My husband and I adopted her almost 2 years ago from North Shore Animal League (which is a great charity, by the way).  She was awesome from day one!  Everyone whose met her has fallen in love, even those who "don't like dogs."  Enjoy the cuteness!

Photo of The Day

As I said in my last blog, I've started a photo a day project.  I was trying to figure out one specific item or color to use and it just wasn't happening.  So, I just picked up the camera and started taking pictures of things around the house and my theme came to me.  I don't consider myself to be a girly-type.  I like cars and movies aimed at 13 year old boys.  So that would be my challenge...photograph one girly thing each day.  I must confess, my love of eyeshadow is definitely one girly trait I possess.  More tomorrow!

Busy, busy, busy...

Been away for a few days...I'm working on a few things at once, and will be starting a "photo-a-day" project tomorrow :)  The topic will be announced here along with the first photo tomorrow night.  Lots more to come, soon!

2007 was a very exciting year for me. The highlight of it all being my wedding in October, followed by our honeymoon to Aruba. The wedding was perfect! 72 degrees and sunny in NYC in October...I couldn't have asked for better wather. Aside from that, the day in general was absolutely fabulous in every way. Aruba was amazing. It was my first time out of the country, and of course I took tons of photos along the way.
In December, I had the fortune of meeting photographer Joel Meyerowitz. His work is truly amazing, and he is an intriguing individual as well. I didn't realize at the moment the affect that meeting would have on me...but I soon realized the profound impact it had. Within days, I decided to further pursue my love of photography. I would start a website to show my work, and another one to sell it. I would make it a point to share my pictures with the world. I would make it a point to take more pictures, and hoped that the website would help me to do so by showing my abilities to a broader audience. I would put my work out there for all to see.
Today is February 9th. Both sites are nearing completion. The closer I get to the web launch, the more nervous I get. I'm about to expose myself to anyone who wants to take a look. I'm about to show photos that have never been seen by anyone other than my husband and I. Will people love it? Will they hate it? Only time will tell. And hopefully, the photos are well received. All in all...whether people love my photos or hate them, they're still looking at them. And in the end, isn't that what matters?
